Skiing in Colorado is a bucket-list experience, but with so many incredible slopes to choose from, narrowing down the best runs can be a challenge. To make your next adventure easier, we turned to our RE/MAX of Cherry Creek team to share their insider favorites. From thrilling descents to scenic trails, here’s are some of our must-ski runs.
Kristine Holvick points to the Black Forest area at Keystone Mountain for its versatility – a series of four tree runs: Timberwolf, Bushwacker, Badger, and The Grizz. “It’s an awesome tree glade area that is never groomed, so always an epic experience on powder days,” says Kristine. “I love that it offers so many options. Depending on conditions, you can ski steep, bumps, wide open or narrow spaces in one run.”
Copper Mountain also has some favorite picks. David Bromberg taps Hallelujah Ridge, saying, “It makes me want to sing. The better the snow coverage, the wider it becomes. It’s short but sweet.” And, Amanda Maxwell also has a favorite run at Copper – Cornice Chute. “It’s at the top of the mountain and the view, on a clear day, is unmatched,” Amanda says. “It is a steep run, but the bottom has the best trees. It drops you down onto the back side of the mountain with some amazing trails. If it has snowed the night before this is my favorite run to hit in the morning.”
And, Vail naturally floats to the top as well. Jim Thoeming taps The Back Bowls at Vail, “especially Sunup and Sundown,” while Deb Guy specifically points to Mongolia Bowl as a must-ski. “It usually has hidden pockets of powder in the trees. My favorite ski days are when I seem to have the bowl to myself,” says Deb. Shannon Gillespie’s favorite run is Forever, as “it goes on forever!”
Last but not least, Aspen gets a nod with Matthew Tapper picking the back of Bell Mountain as his favorite spot. “It presents breathtaking views of the city of Aspen, and the run itself is steep and one of a kind on a powder day,” Matthew says.
Whether you’re chasing adrenaline on steep pitches or soaking in breathtaking mountain views, these RMCC-recommended runs are sure to elevate your Colorado ski season. Grab your gear and carve out your next great adventure!
