It’s that time of week when we are dreaming about the weekend since it’s so close…so here is another round of WEEKEND HAPPENINGS with our picks for what to do in Denver.
Saturday 9/20
Get outside with your dogs for the Wag ‘n Trail! Taking place at Glendale Farm Open Space (north of Castle Rock), you and your pup can walk the 1.6 mile easy trail for a good cause – proceeds go to the Dumb Friends League. There will be fun demonstrations and pet products to check out, plus adoptable dogs and horses. There are some great prizes to win, too! Click here to learn more.
In the mood for some great music? Denver has a weekend full of first-rate bands and artists. Riot Fest is taking place all weekend, from Friday to Sunday, and featuring bands like The Cure, Weezer, Sublime and many more (check out their website here for a full listing and schedule). 3-day passes are still available, so get out to Sports Authority Field and catch some great performances!
Saturday night will feature some more top talent: Elton John at the Pepsi Center and Grace Potter & The Nocturnals are at Red Rocks. So much music to choose from! Read up more at these links and be sure not to miss out.
Sunday 9/21
Catch the Rockies’ last home game of the season at Coors Field where they play the Dodgers at 2:10PM. And if you want to make a day of it, head to the Dada Art Bar on Broadway, just a few blocks from the stadium, and start the day with craft beers, cocktails, and lawn games before heading to the game! The $20 cost goes toward the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, so your socializing will go to a good cause. Find out more here.
Looking for something a little more kid friendly? Head to the Hop, Skip & a Jump Start 5k at the Denver Children’s Museum where you can get a healthy start to your day, and then enjoy music, food and drinks, and of course lots of fun kids’ activities! Included in the registration are a t-shirt or onesie, a goody bag, museum admission, and access to the day’s expo and activities.
