What does the grocery of the future look like? Perhaps just like the store that’s scheduled to open on Colfax Avenue in the latter half of 2019.

According to the Denver Business Journal, what was once a Chinese restaurant at 2200 E. Colfax Ave. is slated to become a “disruptive, multi-modal” convenience store.

In plain English, that means it will have a range of modern amenities, including:

• The operating hours of a traditional convenience store.
• The product selection of a natural grocery and “fast-casual restaurant.”
• Fuel pumps, electric vehicle charging stations, a bike-share terminal, and electric scooter charging stations.
• Paying options that allow customers to “order and pay ahead via the Choice Mobile App, or checkout as they normally would at any other store,” according to a company press release.
• And if you don’t like the idea of getting dressed up and chatting with the neighbors you’re likely to run into at the grocery, this modern store offers the ultimate alternative: home delivery within 45 minutes of placing an order. The store “will also be one of the first companies in the state to offer the delivery of full-strength beer, foods and groceries,” all in one delivery—permissible due to upcoming changes to liquor laws.

The future looks bright, indeed
