Red Rocks Concert Tips

What to Wear & Bring

Comfortable Shoes – Save your feet by choosing shoes that you can hike up to the amphitheater and dance the night away in. We also advise against wearing white shoes, since the red dirt can stain them.

Jacket – If the evening gets chilly, you’ll be glad you added a warm layer to your outfit!

Cushion or Blanket – Make your seat more enjoyable by bringing a cushion or blanket to sit on.

Ear Plugs – If you’re noise sensitive, you likely already own a pair, but if not its a worthwhile purchase to protect your ears.

Raincoat – The weather can often be unpredictable, so pack a poncho or raincoat, especially if rain is forecasted.

Sunscreen – Especially in the summer, this is an essential to keep yourself sunburn-free.

Snacks & Drinks – While you can’t bring in alcohol from outside the park, you can have an unopened plastic bottle or an empty reusable bottle to fill up at the water stations inside. Snacks are also allowed, as long as they’re placed in a clear plastic bag.

One Pocket Bag – Tote bags are a great choice to carry your items and are hassle-free in the security line!

When to Arrive & What to Expect

To make sure you have plenty of time to park and make your way up to the amphitheater, you should arrive at least 1 hour before the artist is expected to perform. For a bit of extra fun, we recommend you get there 3-4 hours early, so you can tailgate in the parking lot. Not only is it a great way to meet your fellow concert-goers, but you can save money and avoid overpaying on food & drinks inside!

If you want to buy drinks during the concert, download the Red Rocks app, so you can mobile order and skip the lines!

Finally, it’s important to be aware of the altitude change. Wear and re-apply sunscreen, don’t over-serve yourself, and drink plenty of water!
