New bus service caters to Colorado’s regional commuters

BustangHiResAnyone who has ever sat in bumper-to-bumper traffic while commuting from Fort Collins to Denver knows how grueling regional commuting can be. Finally, there’s a better alternative: Now you can leave the driving to someone else.

The Colorado Department of Transportation recently launched “Bustang,” a bus service connecting commuters to Denver along the I-25 and I-70 corridors. Buses run Monday through Friday, from Fort Collins, Colorado Springs and Glenwood Springs to Union Station in downtown Denver.

The service offers amenities for modern travelers, including:

  • WiFi (in areas with poor cellular service, however, WiFi may be spotty).
  • 110V outlets and USB charging stations.
  • Bicycle storage for those who plan to get around downtown on bikes once they arrive. Each bus has room for 6 bikes, two on the front and four underneath.

In addition, seniors 65 years and older and disabled persons enjoy a 25% discount. For more details on costs and schedules: www.codot.gov/travel/bustang
