Jefferson Park

About Jefferson Park

Once a neglected neighborhood with rundown homes and scant retail and restaurant offerings, Jefferson Park is undergoing a renaissance, due to its proximity to the city center. Located across I-25 in North Denver, just minutes from Bronco Stadium at Mile High and downtown Denver, the area overlooks the city and many of its prominent tourist attractions, including The Children’s Museum, Elitch Gardens Theme and Water Park, and Downtown Aquarium. As gentrification takes hold, modern box-style condos are popping up next to turn-of-the-century Victorians and row houses, and bustling brew pubs and restaurants like the tony Sartos are springing up amidst old-school establishments. When it comes to recreation, residents enjoy the park for which the neighborhood is named, with its playground and basketball court. They also have easy access to the South Platte River Trail, popular with cyclists, joggers and walkers, that runs along the neighborhood’s eastern edge. Still in transition, Jefferson Park boasts many longtime residents, giving the area a rich, culturally mixed feel. As 5280 recently crowed: “Jefferson Park is poised to become one of the city’s most popular places to eat, drink, play, and live.”
