Dining with a difference: 6 exciting new Denver restaurant options

When it comes to eating out, Denver has more options than a sushi bar. And this year, as every year, brings even more choices.

Where can you dine out that’s different?

Here are 6 new favorites of The Denver Post’s TheKnow columnist Allyson Reedy. Some have already opened; others are coming soon:

American Grind: Beloved for its creative burgers, including beet and sweet potato-based veggie burgers, notes Reedy, this restaurant has been housed in Avanti Food & Beverage since 2017. Now, it will expand its menu in a new Wash Park location. 81 S. Pennsylvania St.

The Constellation Ice Cream: Take the popular Little Man ice cream, house it in a building topped with a giant replica of an airplane wing in honor of its Stapleton location, add options like flambéed Baked Alaska and ice cream cake pops, and you have an ice cream shop sure to take flight. 10155 E. 29th Dr.

Broadway Market: Similar to Milk Market and Stanley Marketplace, Broadway now has its own food hall. Here, you’ll find Roman pizza, Turkish-style street food and more. 950 Broadway.

Maine Shack: The Northeast meets the West in the form of this new establishment, featuring the most expensive lobster rolls this side of the Mississippi. For a half-pound of lobster on a bun, you’ll pay $34. Too expensive for your, ahem, tastes? Try the quarter-pound rolls that start at $22. 1535 Central St.

Restaurant Tonno: For the adventurous diner, chef Alec Bruno will be offering a tasting-menu-only, “that will give Denver diners an 11-20-course edible adventure,” notes Reedy. 2201 W. 32nd Ave.

TORO: Toro means “tuna meat” in Japanese—and that’s what you’ll find at this new restaurant from chef Richard Sandoval (of Tomayo), which features Pan Latin, Japanese and Chinese influences. 150 Clayton Lane (inside the JW Marriott Denver Cherry Creek).
