what to do in denver this weekend

Is it Friday yet? We’re looking forward to getting out this weekend and soaking up the lovely, fall-like weather in the forecast! Once again there is a great assortment of Denver events and activities. Here are our picks:

Saturday 10/4

If you love meat – and we mean good, quality meat – head on over to Marczyk Fine Foods for their annual Pig Roast. With pork from Niman Ranch, they slow roast them like it’s a fine art, resulting in a delicious, savory experience for everyone. Served with their homemade sauce, baked beans, cole slaw, potato salad and cornbread, each plate costs $14.99, which is a steal for a full dish of such amazing food, if you ask us! Food is served between 11:30AM and 2:30PM, and you can find more info on their website here.

For all your crafters out there, the Horseshoe Market is on Saturday from 9AM-4PM at 46th and Tennyson in Berkeley. With awesome handmade and vintage finds, plus artisanal food, DIY workshops, food trucks and live music, this day-long event has a little bit of everything to satisfy the treasure-seeker in all of us. Don’t forget the holidays are just around the corner, too, so this is the perfect place to check off your gift list! Check out more here.

Sunday 10/5

Start your Sunday off at the Free to Breathe 5k Run/Walk for lung cancer, taking place in Wash Park. Registration is available online now and also on the day of the event, beginning at 7:30AM. It all starts with a yoga warm-up is at 8:10AM, followed by the run start at 9AM and walk start at 9:05AM. Funds raised will help to boost awareness and support the research programs that fight the disease. Nothing feels better than waking up early and spending a beautiful morning in Wash Park while supporting a terrific cause. Read more details here.

Soccer fans know to head out to Dick’s Sporting Goods Park on Sunday to watch a great game between the Rapids and the Seattle Sounders. The Sounders have a devoted fan base, so Rapids fans will have to bring all of their purple gear, yell their hardest and enthusiastically cheer on their home team, while also getting to see the skills of US Soccer Team favorite Clint Dempsey. The game starts at 1PM so grab your soccer ball for a great tailgating party beforehand, and don’t miss what should be an action packed game. Get your tickets here.
