Here are our picks for this weekend in Denver! From chili and beer tasting to touring historic homes, it’s a great weekend to get out and have some fun.
Saturday 10/11
Beer and chili. A match made in heaven. So it’s only natural that a festival would be created for them both. On Saturday, Golden will host the Knock Your Boots Off Beer Tasting & Chili Cookoff where you can try over 60 beers plus sample chili from some of the best professional and amateur cooks from all over Golden. If you’re only into beer or just want some delicious chili, there are tickets that cater to one or the other, and your entry fee supports the Golden Chamber and St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Check out more at their website.
Love looking at homes as much as we do? Head to the Old San Rafael Home Tour between 12 and 5PM to get a first-hand look at some of the most beautiful homes in the area, including a historic Denver Square as well as a brand new energy efficient, solar powered home. Funds go to the Gilpin Montessori Public School. Visit their website for more information and to purchase tickets.
Sunday 10/12
Get up bright and early and head to Red Rocks Park for the Run the Rocks event, benefiting the American Lung Association in Colorado. Celebrating its 8th anniversary, the race starts at 9:30AM and takes in some of the best scenery in Colorado and entertains its participants with live music along the way. Learn more and register at their website here.
Are you an upcycler? Then look no further than the PalletFest, taking place over the weekend and showcasing the best in upcycled goods, from fashion to live art. And as you can guess from the name, there will be plenty of re-used pallets, including a pallet maze and plenty of inspiration for those DIY projects you’ve been planning to do. There will be live music and obstacle courses…all in all this event sounds pretty amazing if you asked us, so don’t miss out. Check out more at their website.
