It’s the weekend before Thanksgiving, and Denver is gearing up for the holidays and providing a lot of fun things to do this weekend. Below is just a taste of what is going on!
Don’t miss the ultimate way to kick off the ski season – get inspired to tackle those double black diamonds by watching footage of some awesome skiing in the 65th film by Warren Miller. Screening at the Paramount Theatre multiple times throughout the day, this film shows skiing in Norway, Japan, Greece and also our neighbor Beaver Creek. Buy tickets and view the schedule here.
The Colorado Photographic Arts Center in LoHi is kicking off their latest exhibit called Fashion:Culture. It will explore the fine line between fashion and culture, including exploration of beauty and gender. The exhibit will showcase the photography of 17 local artists and lasts through December 21st at their gallery before moving to the Denver Central Library in January. For a schedule and open hours visit their website.
While the holidays are a wonderful time of year, the pressure of Christmas shopping can end up to be stressful, resulting in that dreaded last minute shopping on Christmas Eve. To not let that happen, you can look no further than the Denver Holiday Food and Gift Festival this weekend where you can find every gift for mom, dad, grandma, and the kids. They will have more than 400 vendors, Santa Claus and a train display, gourmet food, and more. It’s taking place all weekend at the Colorado Convention Center, and they offer an entry coupon on their website here. And check out the full schedule and information here.
If you’re a fan of The Pretenders, you’ll want to make sure you get tickets to Sunday’s concert at the Paramount Theatre to see Chrissie Hynde performing live. She’s promoting her critically acclaimed album Stockholm. The concert is at 7PM and tickets are available here.
