When it comes to freshening up your house, few things are simpler and more effective than adding a new coat of paint to a tired room. The good news is that in the Internet age, such DIY projects are easier than ever. For every question, there’s a website with an answer—or three.

For example, here are a few questions—and the websites that can answer them, as recommended by 5280 magazine:
