Our Favorite Spring Cleaning Tips!

Eliminate Clutter: 

• When sorting through items consider: If you had to pack up and move tomorrow, would this item make the cut?
• Create a “Use Me” basket for any food or toiletries that are almost empty.
• Place a storage bin in any area where clutter tends to build up.
• Do a 10 minute tidy each night.

Clean from Top to Bottom: 

• Before beginning, clean air vents, replace filters, and clean your vacuum.
• Put all rugs, bath mats, curtains, and shower curtains into a wash cycle when you start, so they can be cleaned at the same time.
• Work room by room, cleaning any rooms with carpet first. Place all your cleaning supplies in a cart, so you can easily transport them while you clean.
• Close carpeted areas off once you finish cleaning them to prevent tracking any dust, debris, or cleaning fluids from the floors on to the carpets.

Get Creative With Your Tools

• Use a clean mop to wash shower walls and glass easily.
• Put dryer sheets or baking soda at the bottom of your trashcan to help mask odors.
• Soak and clean oven racks in your bathtub.
• Use a razor blade gently when removing anything sticky to avoid ruining your furniture’s finish.
• Rub baseboards with a dryer sheet to help prevent dust accumulation.
