Is your house is looking tired and dated? There’s a simple solution: Spruce things up by painting the walls or adding accessories in Snorkel blue, Buttercup yellow and Peach Echo orange.

Those are the latest colors recommended by the leading color experts from the Pantone Color Institute. Each year, the company offers new color palettes designed to achieve a contemporary and well-coordinated look.

“Colors this season transport us to a happier, sunnier place where we feel free to express a wittier version of our real selves,” said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of Pantone. “With our culture still surrounded by so much uncertainty, we are continuing to yearn for those softer shades that offer a sense of calm and relaxation.”

Inspired by the contrast of “urban design and lush vegetation,” notes Pantone, this year’s colors include:

Peach Echo: This is a shade that “emanates friendlier qualities, evoking warmth and accessibility,” says Pantone. “It is an all-encompassing, tempered companion in the playful orange family.”

Snorkel Blue: In the navy family, this softer blue is meant to achieve a “happier, more energetic context” that brings to mind a vacation escape.

Buttercup: A diversion from the mostly subdued colors being promoted this year, this is a bright and sunny yellow.

Limpet Shell: A shade of aqua, this color “leans toward the green family,” evoking “a deliberate, mindful tranquility.”
