You can travel thousands of miles by air to see the Sistine Chapel in Rome. Or, you can make it easy on yourself and see it right here in Denver.
To be honest, you won’t see the original Sistine Chapel here in the Mile High City. But you can visit an exact replica at the Stanley Marketplace, which will host “Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel: The Exhibition” between July 4 and August 13. The Exhibition features life-size, museum-quality reproductions of the master artist’s frescoes. They will be hosted by The Hangar at the Marketplace.
“Michelangelo painted these frescoes in about four years and there are 34 of them, so this is about appreciating their intricacy up-close and personal,” Bryant Palmer, chief storyteller at the Stanley, told the Denver Post.
The best part is that tickets are just $16; $12 for seniors, active military, and students with valid ID; and $10 for groups of 10 or more.
You’ve got to admit that’s a whole lot cheaper than airfare to Rome.
