Name: Josie
Owner: Alex Caldwell
How’d you come up with her name? Josie is from a family farm in Arkansas that was passed down from my great grandparents. My great grandmother was Josie. My husband thinks the Steely Dan song “Josie” played a role and insists on singing the chorus when she enters the room.
Nicknames: JoJo
Breed: Australian Shepard
Gender: Female
Age: 10 weeks
Favorite toys: A blue squeaky dragon that has been patched up multiple times.
Most happy when: Playing fetch in fresh snow
Least happy when: Crate training, she is not happy when we leave her alone.
Can she do any tricks? So far just the basics. She can sit, stay, come…..but she is smart and learning something new everyday.
What’s Josie’s favorite food? Peanut Butter!
What’s the naughtiest thing she has ever done? She likes to chew on my shoes. So far the only real serious victims have been houseshoes and cheap sandals…..and I am trying to keep it that way.
What is Josie’s favorite spot in your home? Wherever the action is. She likes to look out the windows at squirrels and bunnies. A few days ago she was mesmerized by a large fox harassing our chickens, she is not a very good watchdog yet.
What is your go-to neighborhood for walks? Josie has not mastered the art of walking on a leash, far from it actually. Our “walks” are around the yard while we work on leash training but she has made several outings to the Edgewater Beergarden and loves all of the attention from happy patrons and other puppies.
