Can he do any tricks? He knows hand signals and all sorts of commands
What’s your pet’s favorite food? A raw egg after a long hike.
How would you describe Goose’s personality? Smart, sly, tender
What’s your favorite part about Goose? His eyes. His look can speak a thousand words.
What’s the naughtiest thing he has ever done? He once at an entire tiramisu cake off the dining room table on Christmas Eve.
What is his favorite spot in your home? His “perch” at the front door so that he can see every passerby.
What’s the best memory you have with Goose? Hiking with him at Chaco Canyon through the slot canyons. We had to lift him up through certain sections – but he didn’t mind. This was before we had kids – so he was our first kiddo.
What’s your favorite thing to do with him? I love seeing him run around at our family ranch. He acts like he owns every square acre, like he belongs there. It’s his Disneyland.
What is your go-to neighborhood for walks? Any hiking trail in Golden and every pee spot in Applewood.
What’s the most rewarding part about being a pet owner? Knowing that he loves me unconditionally. That is a trick most humans can’t figure out.
Anything else you want us to know? Don’t buy a pure breed — buy a rescue dog. We were lucky to get Goose as a puppy and he is darn near the smartest and friendliest dog around. Don’t assume that a rescue dog will be untrainable or mean. “Rescues” deserve a home – it will change your life and theirs.
