Buying your first home can be both exciting and overwhelming. Usually it’s the biggest purchase you’ve made at that point in your life and seems like a staggering amount of money to be spending. But after grasping the value of making that leap, and realizing the power of the investment you are making, it’s easy to see that it is also tremendously exciting. The thought of owning your own home, where you can do whatever you want to it – paint walls…or even tear down walls! – is a liberating concept that fills people with pride and enthusiasm. Gone are the days of dealing with whatever you are given in a rental property, and you now can begin putting your personal touch on your own space.
Luckily in Colorado, we have a great number of options when buying that first home. According to a recent WalletHub study, many of our state’s cities and towns are top ranked when it comes to affordability, real estate market conditions, community environment, median income plus many more important factors when starting out with purchasing real estate. Denver-area cities in the top ten include Centennial and Thornton, while others in the top 35 include Arvada, Aurora, Colorado Springs, Longmont, Fort Collins, Westminster, and Greeley.
We all know how quickly our city is growing, and it’s wonderful to see the opportunity for first-time home buyers to plant their roots here and successfully navigating our Denver real estate market. Especially when articles have recently been released showing how rent is increasingly becoming more and more expensive, this study shows that our residents can still enjoy home ownership.
