You’ve spent the day hiking and biking or even just mowing the lawn or gardening. Aside from a sweaty workout, what’s your reward?
Here’s our idea: Nothing says “good job” like a scoop of ice cream. So why not give yourself a treat at one of Denver’s best ice cream shops?
Here are 4 recommended ice cream eateries, suggested by thrillist:
Little Man Ice Cream, LoHi: There’s nothing little about this ice cream shop’s reputation. On warm summer nights, people line up down the street to enjoy Little Man’s famous salted Oreo flavor, or any number of other tasty choices. And you’ll feel good about indulging, as “they also give back through the Scoop to Scoop initiative which donates a scoop of rice, beans, or other essentials to those in need for every scoop sold,” reports thrillist.
Sweet Cow, Highlands, Platt Park, South Broadway, Stanley Marketplace, Louisville, North Boulder: Sweet Cow makes their ice cream fresh daily and serves it in earth-friendly recyclable and compostable cups and spoons. Choose from a multitude of flavors, “from cookies and cream to German chocolate” and try their delectable pretzel cone “for a sweet and salty experience.”
Bonnie Brae Ice Cream, Washington Park: A Denver icon, Bonnie Brae is a family-owned shop that’s been in business for 35 years. Patrons can choose from more than 30 flavors daily, including newfangled items like vegan choices and deep dish apple pie. You’ll find a gathering here on nearly any nice night and sometimes a few musicians playing tunes to make the evening even sweeter.
Ice Cream Riot, Cheesman Park: Here’s a spot for adventurous ice cream eaters. Why pick boring old chocolate when you can try cheddar goldfish, ice cream cannoli or Pop-Tart ice cream sandwiches? Consider it a riot for your taste buds.
